Me and my husband visited our beloved city Amsterdam beginning of August.

We wanted to recall the times when we lived in this city and  we also wanted to enjoy the food in some of the amazing restaurants. Personally, I also looked forward to see summer foliage in Amsterdam, which is breath-taking.

Amsterdam is a vibrant, crowded city, full of the greenery that gets under your skin. I do not want to describe well-known center, full of the tourists and you are trying to avoid suitcases, sellers of romantic channel cruises and purchased bags with bulbs of tulips.

I would like to put forward the beautiful district near the Vondelpark and underneath to the south direction.

In the vicinity of the most famous park in Amsterdam you will be surrounded with peace and quiet and you can go out for a walk around the oldest and most beautiful houses in Amsterdam. You feel the classical life around the park in the metropole.

The owners walk their dogs, parents bicycle with their children, runners check their phones and running applications and pensioners sit with a glass of wine in nice bars all around. In the air there is the humidity from the previous rain and wellbeing will fill you with peace. The Amsterdam feeling, which is familiar to all who love the city and live in it.

Gardens and front yards match almost the perfection in the Netherlands. Even houses that are inhabited by more residents have their entrances decorated with the flowers,  flower boxes and benches for sitting.

For an explanation of those benches … They are not only arrangements, actually they are frequently used.  As the sun is low in the Netherlands, people tend to sit down on the sun-drenched area immediately as it turns out.

If you are going to visit Amsterdam and you will happen to have a relaxing day, try to do a walk and have a drink at one of the bars. Comfort and good feeling would certainly find you there and you will become “the Amsterdamer” for a moment.
